ビースティ・ボーイズの『MCA』が死去

米ヒップホップ・グループ、ビースティ・ボーイズの”MCA”ことアダム・ヤウク氏が、現地時間の4日朝に地元ニューヨークで死去したことが明らかになった。享年47歳。
2009年7月に左耳に癌性の耳下腺腫瘍があることが判明。約３年にわたる闘病生活を送っていた。

現在、ビースティ・ボーイズの公式サイト（＊）には以下のような声明掲載されている。

It is with great sadness that we confirm that musician, rapper, activist and director Adam "MCA" Yauch, founding member of Beastie Boys and also of the Milarepa Foundation that produced the Tibetan Freedom Concert benefits, and film production and distribution company Oscilloscope Laboratories, passed away in his native New York City this morning after a near-three-year battle with cancer. He was 47 years old.
とても悲しいことだが、ミュージシャン・ラッパー・活動家・映像監督にして、ビースティー・ボーイズの創設メンバーであり、チベタン・フリーダム・コンサートを運営する『ミラレパ・ファウンデーション』や、映画の製作・配給会社『オシロスコープ・ラボラトリーズ』の創設者であるアダム"MCA"ヤウクが今朝、3年近くに渡る闘癌の末、彼の故郷であるニューヨークで亡くなった。47歳だった。
